Bio

Marta Donzelli was born in Turin in 1975. She lives and works in Rome. After earning her high school diploma, she graduated in Philosophy from “La Sapienza” University in Rome in 1999. In 2004 she finished her PhD in Philosophy, discussing a thesis about Edmund Husserl.
In 2001 she started working for Donzelli Publishing House, where she currently is Rights Manager and Acquisitions Editor.
In 2004 she established, together with Gregorio Paonessa,  an independent production and distribution of documentaries and art house films, named Vivo film, who has, among others, produced works by Guido Chiesa, David Christensen, Jean-Louis Comolli, Franco Giraldi, Chiara Malta, Pippo Mezzapesa, Susanna Nicchiarelli, Nelo Risi, Corso Salani, Daniele Vicari.
Vivo film’s productions have been selected by some of the most prestigious internations film festivals. In 2007 Il mio paese by Daniele Vicari won a David di Donatello (Italian Film Academy) as “Best Documentary” and in Locarno, Imatra by Corso Salani, was awarded a Pardo d’Oro, Special Jury Prize of “Cineasti del Presente”.
In 2008 and 2009 she has produced, together with Gregorio Paonessa and Francesca Zanza, for Vivo film (delegate and major production Company) the second work by Michelangelo Frammartino, Le Quattro volte, awarded in 2008 from the Torino Film Lab. The film by Michelangelo Frammartino is now in late post production state.
In November 2009 she has been invited as Jury Member of the documentary competition (Italiana.doc) of the 26 °Torino Film Festival.
