Bio
Fabienne Aguado holds a BA in Film Studies (she wrote a thesis about Jacques Tati) and a Masters degree in Sociology (Cultural Policies and Socio-economic issues). Her early professional life was spent on film sets (assistant director, script) and on writing articles and film reviews. She was one of the founders of the « 5 jours tout court » Festival in Caen. Her varied experience includes managing a film production company, running evenings for film clubs, reading scripts and being a regular member of juries attributing development grants. In 1998, she helped founding the Centre for Cinematographic Scripts (CÉCI) that she has been managing for the past five years. CÉCI has its offices at the Moulin d’Andé, a cultural association in Normandy where writers and artists have found inspiration, support and the best conditions of work and relaxation over the last fifty years. The association is of international repute for its support of a pluralistic yet demanding film-making world.
The CÉCI, the film department of the Moulin d’Andé, provides a permanent program for film screenwriting whose aim is to support innovating and personal projects by: Encouraging ground-breaking writing, Focusing on the diversity of writers, Supporting original perspectives by offering screenwriters; music track composers and writers; researchers and critics an outstanding working environmentwith interdisciplinary and international exchanges. Aspects : Accommodation, Training, Professional meetings and colloquiums, Open to individuals or groups (all professions of the film industry are welcome)
MOULIN D’ANDÉ : At the outset, the Moulin d’Andé was a haven for writers such as Maurice Pons (who is still present), Richard Wright, René Depestre, François-Régis Bastide, François Nourissier, Jean and Brigitte Massin, Henri Pichette, Georges Perec and many others. In both screenwriting and shooting, the Moulin d’Andé has actively supported the cinema in general and The New Wave most especially : Alain Cavalier’s Fire and Ice (Le Combat dans l'île) ; Robert Enrico’s In the Midst of Life (Au cœur de la vie) ; François Truffaut’s The 400 Blows (Les 400 coups) and Jules et Jim ; Jean Paul Rappeneau’s Chateau Life (La vie de château) ; Marin Karmitz’ Blow for Blow (Coup pour coup)…
