Bio
Axel Koenzen was born 1972 in Hilden, Germany. Studied Photography at the International Center of Photography in New York. Then worked as a freelance photographer and visual researcher for companies as R.S.A. (Ridley Scott & Associates) and Columbia Tristar Los Angeles. Studied directing at the German Film and Television School Berlin (dffb), where he directed several short films including “Wax and Wane” (1999) and “Firn” (2006), which were selected for official competition by the International Film Festival in Cannes. Axel Koenzen´s first feature film “Deadweight” is currently in development and has been accepted for the writer´s programme at the Binger Filmlab in Amsterdam, as well as for the Script&Pitch workshops in Turino.
