Bio
Basil was born and raised in Nazareth, Palestine, to an Arab-Israeli father and an English-Irish mother. Basil got his MA in Screen Project Development from Screen Academy Scotland. And in 2005 Basil directed his debut feature documentary REPLAY REVENGE for AlJazeera English, and a number of shorts including the award winning film SHOOTER.
Basil is currently living in London where he has directed a range of television productions in the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Israel, Palestine and China, as well as writing and producing a 25 episode TV series for FRESH ONE, Jamie Oliver’s production company while developing a slate of feature films, including a novel adaptation from an acclaimed British-Lebanese author, and the first action-comedy to come out of Palestine.
Basil has taken part in a number of training workshops including NFTS, EAVE, DUBAI INT’L FILM FESTIVAL PRODUCER'S COURSE, BERLINALE TALENT CAMPUS, and HAIFA INT’L FILM FESTIVAL PITCHING COMPETITION
