TFL Extended – Story Editing 2020


TARGET PARTICIPANTS: Film professionals from all over the world interested in being trained as story editors for fiction feature film projects.

DURATION: Residential workshop in Turin from 16th to 21th of April 2020.

FEE: 1.500 Euro (+ VAT, if due).

About TFL Extended – Film Story Editing
TFL Extended – Story Editing is a hands-on training for film professionals willing to accompany writers and directors in the development of their fiction feature film projects. The aim of the programme is to provide an insight into the development process, focusing on the treatment phase.

This workshop will be held together with TFL Extended – Feature Film: each of the 5 selected participants joins a specific group of 5 projects, guided by a tutor with a wide international experience as a script consultant who acts as a mentor to the story editor trainee.

Participants will acquire skills in the fields of treatment and script analysisassessment of project development and script consulting. More concretely, they will be trained in working with writers, from an idea up to a professional draft of the script, helping them find the core of their story and encouraging a script loyal to the intention of the writer and/or director.

Who can apply?
TFL Extended – Story Editing
is addressed to script consultants, producers, commissioner editors, film festival and fund representatives, readers for production companies/film funds, etc. from all over the world, interested in gaining an insight into the development process of fiction feature film projects.

The working language of all workshops, meetings and events is English; thus, a good knowledge of English is essential in order to participate.

The 5 selected participants will be announced one week after the deadline and after a selection process made by the tutors involved in the workshop.

Participation fees & scholarships
Course participation fee: 1.500 Euro (+ VAT, if due).

This amount covers workshop training. Participants must pay their travel, board and lodging costs. TorinoFilmLab doesn’t provide any scholarships for this workshop.

In many countries, public institutions make scholarships available for this kind of training.

How to apply?
The requested materials – to be submitted all together in one PDF, and all in English – are:
- a motivation letter explaining why you would like to take part in the programme (1 page maximum);
- a document in which the applicant describes the situation surrounding story editing in their origin country or region;
- a CV (2 pages maximum).

Applications that don’t respect the above-listed criteria will be rejected.
