Biography

Claudia Soranzo (1987) obtained her Master's Degree in Cinema from the University of Bologna. Subsequently, she pursued a Master's degree in Film Production and Location Management at the Cà Foscari Challenge School of Venice. In 2017, Claudia was selected from MAIA Workshops, intensive training program tailored for emerging European producers. In 2016, she joined the Nefertiti Film team, where she currently engages in international co-production projects. This endeavor serves to deepen her understanding of the intricacies that govern such partnerships and allows her to broaden her professional network. Claudia has been involved in the development and production of several feature films. These include "Sem Coraçao" (Heartless) by Nara Normande & Tiao (BR-FR-IT), which competed in the Orizzonti category at the Venice Film Festival in 2023; "Piccolo Corpo" (Small Body) by Laura Samani (IT-FRA-SLO) in competition at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes in 2021. This film earned acclaim by winning the David di Donatello Award for Best New Director in 2022, as well as the European Discovery – Prix FIPRESCI at the European Film Awards in the same year; "Brotherhood," a documentary by Francesco Montagner, which secured the Pardo D’Oro Cineasti del Presente award at the 74th Locarno Film Festival (CZ-IT), and "Menocchio" by Alberto Fasulo (IT-RO), Official Competition of the 71st Locarno Festival, receiving a Special Mention from the Junior Jury. Currently, Claudia is deeply involved in the development of several projects, including "La Corda" (The Rope) by Alberto Fasulo, "Un Anno di Scuola" (One Year of School) by Laura Samani, "L’Ultima Regina" (The Last Queen) by Luca Renucci and Stefano La Rosa, and "Battaglia" (Battle) by Beniamino Barrese and in the international co-production of several projects, such as My Soul Startled by Syllas Tzoumerkas and The White Club by Michele Pennetta.
