Sustainable TFL

For years, at TorinoFilmLab, we have been committed to environmental sustainability, making it a core pillar of our activities, believing that cinema is a powerful ally in shaping a better future.

In 2019 we introduced the White Mirror Award and the Green Filming Award, two annual prizes created to support filmmakers in facing this challenge. Since then, we’ve launched several training programmes aimed at raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices. With TFL Next – Green Narratives, we train creatives interested in crafting inclusive and environmentally conscious stories. Through Green Film Lab and Green Production Lab, we provide professionals with tools to design low-impact productions and help build a stronger bridge between cinema and sustainability. In addition, green consultancies and masterclasses have been integrated across all our labs.

But sustainability is not just something we teach - it’s something we practice every day.
In 2023, we took a step forward by committing to a three-year sustainability improvement plan to certify the TFL Meeting Event in line with ISO 20121. This journey encouraged us to go even further. We developed a CO₂ calculator to measure our environmental impact and established clear policies and guidelines to reduce it, managing our daily operations more consciously.
