TFL Green Narratives aims at:
- Offering support to filmmakers with a feature film project, in the treatment phase, who want to incorporate climate themes, social inclusion, and/or sustainability into their narratives without losing their unique artistic voice.
- Training a new wave of story editors equipped with the skills to assist writers in integrating climate-conscious themes while respecting creative autonomy and maintaining the emotional and commercial viability of the story.
- Challenging traditional narratives through inspiring meetings and discussions while actively considering innovative dramaturgical avenues. Participants will be encouraged to rethink and question narrative structures in order to embrace climate-positive, regenerative, diverse, and inclusive stories that move beyond dystopian visions and unhelpful tropes, inspiring alternative modes of thinking and creating hope and agency.
- The workshop focuses exclusively on projects at a treatment stage (scripts will not be considered), ensuring that participating writers/directors develop their projects, with support from experienced script consultants and through peer group discussions, enabling them to with confidence aim for a draft of the script. Script Editor Trainees will be mentored while following this process closely and taking part in all the lectures and master classes offered.
