Graduated from Boğaziçi University where she majored in Sociology and minored in Film Studies. She studied in University of Washington as an exchange student. Short films that she produced premiered at various festivals such as Locarno, Sarajevo, Istanbul and Palm Springs. Alara also worked in the production of various TV series and features within Netflix and Ay Yapım.
