Biography
Belarusian born, Aliaksei Paluyan moved to Germany in 2012 to study film. His mid-length drama Lake of Happiness (2019) premiered at Clermont-Ferrand, won numerous international awards and earned a 2020 European Film Awards nomination. His documentary Courage (2021) premiered at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival and screened at major festivals (longlisted for the 2022 Oscars). Aliaksei is an EFA member, co- founder of Belarusian Independent Film Academy, and a Berlinale Talents alumnus.
