Juan Carlos Guerra is a screenwriter and filmmaker who began his training at the International Screenwriting Workshop of EICTV of Cuba and later he received a scholarship from the Fundación SGAE for further international studies. In 2019 he participates in the intensive workshop Da Criação a Guião with Doc Comparato, within the program A Quatro Mãos in Lisbon, and he is selected for the Fundación SGAE Thriller and Drama Project Script Development Workshop in Madrid. His short films and documentaries have been selected in international film festivals where he won several awards, such as the MadeInShort Andalucía Award, the RTVA Award for Andalusian audiovisual creation or the special mention of the public in the Uno Sguardo Raro Festival in Rome. With his feature film projects, he won the Grand Jury Prize at the Barcelona International Film Festival in 2019, and he is the winner of projects to be developed at the Oaxaca FilmFest in Mexico. In 2020 he is selected in the Labguion of Colombia, in the Storyline Lab in spanish of the Cinema Qua Non Lab of Mexico and in the 2nd Laboratory for proposals and presentation of fiction projects of the Festival de Cine de Alicante.
