Jan Wagner is a director and screenwriter of both fiction- and documentary films. After studies of psychology and filmtheory at Freie Universität Berlin, he studied screenwriting at Deutsche Film-und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb) and was a fellow of Columbia Tristar Screenwriting Masterclass. Later he moved to Lodz Poland, learned Polish and gained a MA in directing from the Polish National Filmschool in Lodz (PWSFTviT). During his studies Jan directed several short documentary and fiction films, that where shown at numerous international filmfestivals and won several awards. Among others the short fiction Porno that won 11 awards e.g. Shortfilmaward at the Int. Festival of Eastern European Film Cottbus/Germany and the Award of Young Jury of the Int. Filmfestival Huesca/Spain. In 2012 Jan taught for the first time Natural Storytelling at the Polish National Filmschool in Lodz. He presently lives in Berlin and is preparing his directorial feature film debut.
