Dive deep into the writing process through an intensive development workshop.

WHAT

TFL Extended - Film is addressed to teams of international professionals, with projects at an early development stage who are willing to dive deep into the writing process through an intensive development workshop.

Participants will have the rare opportunity to discuss their work in group sessions and one-to-one meetings with high profile tutors and to develop their projects with the help of a creative team of talented writers.

25 projects will be selected to work in 5 groups, each guided by a tutor with a wide international experience as a script consultant.
Throughout the workshop, the participants will test a wide range of possibilities for the creative development of their projects by working on the treatment.

TFL Extended – Film is aimed at encouraging the creative process necessary to achieve the best possible result for creating strong stories, which can meet audience and market’s requirements.
The workshop offers coaching and training as well as answering to the specific professionals’ needs, along a 4-day trajectory.
Other than the training, the participants will have the chance to join the TFL community of international and high-qualified professionals and to network with their colleagues during the workshop.
Professionals can enhance their skills while finding productive collaborations and networking with international colleagues.

After the workshop, the participants will re-work their materials and will have the chance to receive further advice and support on the projects’ development from their tutors with an additional one-time consultancy by Skype.

WHO CAN APPLY

TFL Extended – Film is open to professional scriptwriters and directors from all over the world.
It is possible to apply as an individual or as a team of two co-writers.
In the case of projects based on novels, short stories or other literary works, applicants must have secured an option for the work they wish to adapt.
The working language of the workshop, meetings and events is English; thus, a good knowledge of English is essential in order to participate.

PARTICIPATION FEE

Workshop participation fee: 1.700 Euro (+ VAT, if due) per team of participants (max 2 participants).
Once that the application has been confirmed, participants must send a proof of the payment within the following 2 days, or they will lose their seat.

In many Countries, public institutions make scholarships available for this kind of training.

HOW TO APPLY

The requested materials – to be submitted all together in one PDF, and all in English – are:
- A project synopsis (1 page maximum) & a treatment (10 pages maximum!);
- A director's/scriptwriter's intention note (1 page maximum);
- A CV (2 pages maximum);
- Materials informing about the audio-visual approach: still pictures, video mood board, etc. - optional;
- A link (with password) to one previous short film or audio-visual work (30 minutes maximum) - optional.
In the application form, candidates will also be asked to fill out a questionnaire about the status of their project.

Applications that don’t respect the above-listed criteria will be rejected.

Due to the epidemic of Covid-19 and any possible mutation of it, we draw your attention to the fact that TorinoFilmLab may have to cancel the residential workshop(s) and held it online for responding to the recommendations of health and government organizations. In such a case, TorinoFilmLab will notify the participants of its decision without delay.
