WAR selected for Berlinale Talent Project Market 2013 and more TFL Alumni in Berlin...

We are glad to announce that WAR by Simon Jaquemet (Switzerland) is one of the 10 projects by promising newcomers selected out of 212 entries for the Berlinale Talent Project Market.

We are glad to announce that WAR by Simon Jaquemet (Switzerland) is one of the 10 projects by promising newcomers selected out of 212 entries for the Berlinale Talent Project Market.

In what has proven to be a successful cooperation between the Berlinale Co-Production Market and the Berlinale Talent Campus, this event prepares young producers and directors for the international market, and arranges meetings with potential partners. WAR, which is produced by Hugofilm (Switzerland) and was also invited to the Premiers Plans Ateliers in Angers in 2012, was developed within Script&Pitch 2011 and subsequently, after winning a Development Award, within FrameWork 2012.

The 10 Talent Projects are part of a total of 38 feature film projects selected for the 10th Berlinale Co-Production Market (February 10-12, 2013) that will have the opportunity to meet with 450 potential co-production and financing partners. The official selection also includes 20 international fiction film projects with at least 30% financing in place, 3 projects chosen for the Rotterdam-Berlinale Express in conjunction with CineMart Rotterdam, 5 feature projects by directors who took part in the first edition of the Berlinale Residency programme. Besides, the Company Matching programme presents a selection of 7 internationally active, experienced production companies keen on establishing new partnerships and exploring possibilities for collaborations: we wish luck to two of them, Lemming Film (Netherlands) and Rohfilm (Germany), that had various projects participating in Script&Pitch and FrameWork in the last few years.

Besides Simon Jaquemet, 4 other TFL Alumni were selected for the Berlinale Talent CampusFranco Dipietro (Italy - Script&Pitch 2009); Gigi Roccati (Italy - Interchange 2010, FrameWork 2011); Ahmed Amer (Egypt - Interchange 2011), Hossam Elouam (Egypt - Interchange 2011).

Furthermore, the Berlinale Generation programme includes works by 2 TFL Alumnae: the feature film MARUSSIA by Eva Pervolovici (Romania - Script&Pitch 2011) is in the Generation Kplus selection, while THE DATE by Jenni Toivoniemi (Finland - Script&Pitch 2007) is in the Short Films - Generation 14plus selection.
