The TFL workshops: a season recap

You might have noticed from the countless pictures popping up here and there, but this late spring and early summer have seen TFL people traveling all over Europe. Actually, scratch that – around the world! To keep track of our recent journeys, here's a quick summary.

LONG-TERM PROGRAMMES:
These are our so-called "classics," the reliable core of our yearly activities. June was packed with residential workshops for our longer-duration programmes, made possible by the incredible collaboration and support of our partners.

SeriesLab: our programme dedicated entirely to the world of TV series (and creating 9 new ones!) comprises three residential workshops in total. Kicking off the month was its first residential workshop, held in Leuven, Belgium, thanks to our partnership with VAF - Flanders Audiovisual Fund.

ScriptLab & ComedyLab: The second residential workshop for both programmes took place in the second half of the month in Berlin, Germany thanks to the support of Der Divan - Das Arabische Kulturhaus. More about these initiatives? ScriptLab is dedicated to projects in an early stage of development, while ComedyLab brings together comedy projects in progress with writer/performers fascinated by the world of cinema -

FeatureLab: Why not discuss feature film projects in the cool, long-day capital of Norway? In Oslo, thanks to the support of The Norwegian Film Institute, Oslo Filmfond, and Oslo Filmkommisjon, the 10 project teams exchanged ideas, opinions, and advice on their works, guided by experts and trainers.

SHORT-TERM PROGRAMMES:

Talentscope
: In the second half of June, we collaborated with the Netherlands Film Fund for an Amsterdam-based workshop. Participants focused on their projects with our expert, Eilon Ratzkovsky. The next residential session will be held from 13th to 17th October in Leiden, focusing primarily on the plot and storyline of the projects.

TFL Extended in Brazil: This lab marked a change in both month and continent! In the first half of July, we traveled to São Paulo, Brazil, for a workshop focused on audience design, realised in collaboration with the São Paulo Audiovisual Hub. With us, the TFL experts Sìle Culley e Nicolò Gallio.

ONLINE SESSIONS

Hey, we also held two online workshop sessions recently! Though not in-person events, they allowed participants to continue their training paths: TFL Next Green Narratives and the second workshop of the Red Sea Labs – The Lodge module.

So, that leaves just one question: what's in store for us this autumn?
