Starting across the ocean, three #TFLfilms will be presented during the Toronto Film Festival around the corner.
THE COURAGEOUS by the Swiss American filmmaker Jasmin Gordon (ScriptLab 2021) will be featured in the Discovery section, while CROCODILE TEARS by the writer and filmmaker based in Jakarta Tumpal Tampubolon (FeatureLab 2019) and THE SWEDISH TROPEDO by the Swedish director Frida Kempff (ScriptLab 2019) and co-written by the TFL tutor Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten, join the Centrepiece section.
And that's not all, GÜLIZAR by Belkis Bayrak, which took place in a TFL Extended workshop back in 2019, also joins the Discovery section of the festival right before having its European premiere at San Sebastián. Combo also for ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHT by Payal Kapadia (TFL Audience Design Fund 2024) to be featured both in Spain and Canada.
Finally, other familiar titles at TIFF include VERMIGLIO by Maura Delpero (which is about to be presented in Venice), VIET AND NAM by Truong Minh Quý and THE VILLAGE NEXT TO PARADISE by Mo Harawe (Cannes – Un Certain Regard 2024); plus the feature directorial debut of our alumna and tutor Laura Piani, Jane Austen Wrecked My Life.
