OPEN CALLS & SELECTIONS

A new programme: Green Latam Lab is online!

There's a new addition to our Green Labs, the section that gathers initiatives focused on a more sustainable audiovisual industry, and a call for applications is already open. Welcome Green Latam Lab – Uruguay 2025 targeting Latin American professionals!

A new programme: Green Latam Lab is online!

Let’s get into details: organised in collaboration with Bocacha Films, the Latin American film professionals will focus on developing their skills by working on a concrete sustainability plan for a fiction feature film.

The programme - foreseen between 7th and 12th December 2025 in Montevideo - will provide knowledge and practical tools to enhance professional competencies and increase the project's potential, specifically within the Latin American context. The 3 film projects and 12 film professionals selected will develop sustainability plans for 3 selected fiction feature projects currently in pre-production and scheduled to be shot within the next 9 months.

While defining a concrete sustainability plan, participants will explore how to apply current best practices in areas such as energy efficiency, transportation, accommodation, catering, and more. The training course will combine plenary sessions, case studies, group works, and networking opportunities also with fellow Latin American professionals who share an interest in sustainability.

Before we dig more into who can apply, we'd like to remind you that there will be an online Q&A presentation on 10th September, 17:00 CEST (Rome time) / 12:00 UTC-03 (Buenos Aires time) / 10:00 UTC-05 (Bogota time) at THIS link.

A few more details on who can apply:

- Producers with a fiction feature project in pre-production as well as producers without a current project who are interested in developing green practices on set, learning how to integrate green strategies into their productions, and engaging their crews effectively.

- Crew members (e.g., production assistants, production coordinators, line producers) who wish to gain practical knowledge on how to implement environmentally-friendly measures on set.

- Delegates from funds, film commissions, and film institutions who are interested in acquiring tools to inform policy development and implementation.

Please note that the workshop is free of charge, the training, accommodation and meals are covered but participants must take care of their travel costs.
