We are excited to announce the newest TFL initiative: TFL Next! In these challenging times, it’s more important than ever to sustain a strong, international community and to continue developing original and unique stories that can impact the future. With this in mind, TorinoFilmLab has chosen to enrich its training possibilities, offering a new package of live, online workshops.
TFL Next consists of carefully crafted workshops to help you move forward with your projects. This is a unique opportunity to enhance, share and test ideas with peers and high-level tutors from all over the world. Thanks to this global experience, the participants will have the chance to develop a strong international network: on top of the script sessions, participants will gather during special online events aimed at exchanging skills and finding productive collaborations.
The workshops are addressed to international professionals with feature film projects, encouraging the creative development through intensive coaching. 12 projects will be selected for each workshop and divided into 3 groups, to work on their treatment alongside peers and a tutor with a substantial international experience as a script consultant.
Given the flexibility of online training, the workshops will be divided into 2 sessions and one follow-up meeting. It will start with a first, 5 day-long session where participants discuss their work in group sessions and one-on-one meetings with their tutors. Then, participants will have 1 week to rework their materials which will be discussed in a second 2 day-long session. One month later, they will receive further advice and support on the development of their project from their tutors through an additional online consultancy.
Who can participate?
The online workshops are open to scriptwriters, directors and producers from all over the world. The project can be presented individually or in a team (maximum 2 participants per team) and must be in the shape of a feature film project at early development stage.
The workshops are treatment-based; which means that participants will exclusively work on the treatment of the feature film (the tutors will not be required to read a full script). In the case of projects based on novels, short stories or other literary works, applicants must have secured an option for the work they wish to adapt.
