Ricardo Branco



Ricardo Branco was born in 1992 in Amarante, Portugal. In 2010 he published his first novel Amor Combate and in 2016 he premiered his first short film 1500 at BFI Flare. His second short, Out of Frame, premiered at the Portuguese Cinemateque in 2017 and it is a documentary. Rute, his third short-film earned a Special Mention of the Jury in Queer Lisboa 2017. Rute has also been exhibited in galleries in context of Contemporary Art. Ricardo Branco works daily on the development of projects and has also worked as a writer, director’s assistant, junior producer, investigator and editor. He’s also creator and curator of the cultural festival Escrever nas Margens. He’s first feature film under development was selected for the Torino Film Lab Ext 2020 and for the Eave+ program. He’s under pre-production to shoot his next short fiction Under the Influence.
