Daniel Soares is a German-born Portuguese screenwriter, director and photographer. His short films premiered in Official Competition at Cannes and at festivals including Telluride, Locarno and Clermont-Ferrand, earning a Special Mention for the Short Film Palme d’Or, the Grand Jury Prize at Premiers Plans, and Best Short Film awards at IndieLisboa and Zagreb. He has participated in Ikusmira Berriak, Berlinale Talents and LIM, and is a member of the European Film Academy.
