Biography
Kateryna Gornostai studied biology and later journalism at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. From 2012 to 2013, she studied documentary filmmaking at the Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov School of Documentary Films and Theatre. She began her career as a documentary filmmaker before moving to hybrid and feature films. Stop-Zemlia (2021) is the director’s full-length feature debut, which was presented in the Generation 14plus section of the Berlinale in 2021 and won the Crystal Bear Award from the Youth Jury. She lives and works in Kyiv.
