György Baráthy is a Hungarian writer and story editor. He was a story addict from an early age, so he was fortunate to end up at the University of Theater and Film Arts in Budapest. Since 2011, he has worked for HBO Europe and has written 32 original episodes (IN TREATMENT, WHEN SHALL WE KISS, VENEER). His short film YOUNIVERSE premiered on HBO Max in 2020. He is also part of the team at Joyrider, a TV development company.
Beyond his work in television, György has been a dramaturg, playwright, and translator in over 80 theatre productions. He is also an alumnus of the Midpoint Series Launch, Sundance Episodic Lab, and Torino Series Lab. In addition to his writing, he has worked as a mentor and teacher, and he is the creator of the 7+7 METHOD, a development framework for TV series. His book on the method will be published later this year.
