Biography

After a first career in international relations, Coralie Lavergne turned to filmmaking. She has since directed three short films, collectively selected in over a hundred international festivals and broadcasted on ARTE. Her work explores themes of identity, belonging, and reconnection to one’s roots, as well as the political forces that shape them. These themes were first developed in her short film Aïcha (2024) and continue in her upcoming feature "À Bord, la Vie". In 2022, she won the Grand Prize at the Valence International Screenwriters Festival for a series project. In 2023, the screenplay for her first feature À Bord, la Vie was a finalist for the Lagardère Foundation Grant. In 2024, it was selected for the highly competitive Groupe Ouest annual program and won the end-of-residency pitch award.
