Reuben Hamlyn is an Emmy & BIFA-nominated writer/director & editor from London. His feature debut, Another Body (2023) premiered at SXSW, where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize. Supported by Impact Partners, the International Documentary Association's Enterprise Grant, and Sundance's Catalyst Lab, the film was released in the US (Utopia, WILLA), UK (Modern Films, BBC Storyville), in France & Germany (Arte) and in other territories, before receiving an Emmy nomination in ‘Best Directing-Documentary’ and two British Independent Film Award nominations in ‘Best Feature Documentary’ and ‘Best First Time Feature Documentary’. Reuben's short fiction film, Roger (2019), commissioned by the BFI and BBC Arts, premiered at the BFI Southbank, aired on BBCFour, and won multiple awards. His fiction short, Bitter Weeds (2024) was shortlisted for the student Academy Award. His most recent fiction short, Sunday’s Children (2026), premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Cinef selection. His debut narrative feature is in development, and was selected to participate in Torino ScriptLab 2026. He is also developing his second feature documentary. As an editor, his work has premiered at Cannes, Venice, Locarno & San Sebastian film festivals. Reuben is a graduate of NYU’s Grad Film programme, having been awarded a TSOA Scholarship and a W.T.C Johnson Fellowship.
