Biography

Fernando Guzzoni (1983) Santiago, Chile, is a film director and scriptwriter. In 2008 he screened the documentary film “La Colorina” in the Festival Des Films Du Monde’s official competition, Montreal Canada. He was given the Best Director Award in Sanfic 2008 and was awarded as best film in the Trieste Film Festival, Italy. The documentary participated in more than 20 international festivals. “Carne de Perro” is his first long feature fiction film. He got the young filmmakers award at the Biarritz Film Festival, the audiovisual fund from the Chilean government, The Cannes Festival Residency, Fondation Grupama Gan from France, World Cinema Fund from Berlinale and the fond sud cinema. The film was screened in the 2012 San Sebastian Film Festival’s New Directors official selection and was awarded as Best Movie. It was also awarded the Ingmar Bergman Prize in Goteborg Film Fest as Best Movie with the Moviecity Award in the Valdivia Film Festival, Chile, best opera prima in La Habana Film Festival. “Carne de Perro” will participate in the Official Selection of Rotterdam, Toulouse, Cartagena de Indias, among others. He is currently developing his new film “No One’s Boy” the proyect won the Chilean development fund(2012).
