Hind Shoufani is a female Palestinian filmmaker/writer, born as a refugee in 1978,  who has lived in various cities in the Middle East and was a Fulbright scholar to NYU to obtain a Master of Fine arts in Filmmaking. She currently works in the Middle East region as a producer/director and writer in various fields. She has one short feature titled “Carencia”, which was her thesis project for NYU in 2005. She has one book of poems published, titled "More light than death could bear", and is awaiting the release of her second book of poetry in the USA and Beirut in spring 2010. Hind is currently working on a documentary on her family and the leftist factions of the PLO, as well as preparing for a narrative feature film shoot in 2011.  She is interested in glitter and light, a free and secular Palestine, writing poetry constantly, female rights and liberties, and bonding with like-minded artists all over the world, as well as dancing to heavenly music, updating the Poeticians website and looking for colorful Indian bindis for her forehead in Dubai.
