Myrna Maakaron was born in Beirut (Lebanon) in 1974.
She studied Communications arts and filmmaking at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA). She started acting at the age of 15, on stage.
Since then, she participated as an actress to many plays and films. In 2000, she left Lebanon to study Theatre at the Sorbonne, in Paris.
She directed several short films and her last film “BerlinBeirut” was invited to more than 100 festivals and won nine awards as Best German documentary (Dok-Leipzig), Best Documentary (Sedicicorto, Italy), Best short film (Carthage, Tunis), The Berlin Today Award (Berlinale).
She has been living in Germany since 2002.
