Biography

Pia Borg is an artist and filmmaker who lives and works in London and Los Angeles. Her documentary ABANDONED GOODS 2014 (co-directed with Edward Lawrenson) was awarded the Golden Leopard for best international short at the Locarno Film Festival and was in the official selection of Sundance and the BFI London Film Festival. In the same year, she directed one third of the triptych film THROUGH THE HAWTHORN - awarded the Grand Prix at the Stuttgart, RICA and Bradford Animation Festivals. The film was also awarded Jury Prizes in Krakow, Annecy, Fantoche and Encounters. She graduated with an MA in animation from the Royal College of Art, and had a solo exhibition of her work at the Oriel Davies Gallery in Wales. She recently joined the Experimental Animation faculty at CalArts.
