Matthias Huser born in Switzerland. Works as a director, writer and creative producer in Zurich. He studied directing at the Zurich University of the Arts, Switzerland and Fine Arts at the University of New South Wales-College of Fine Arts in Sydney, Australia. His previous works has been shown on various international festivals - Film Festival de Cannes, Official Selection Cinefondation and nomination for the First Steps Award Berlin with DOGS (Shortfilm, 2006), Int. Filmfestival Palm Springs, Int. Film Festival Calgary, BAFICI - Buenos Aires Int. Festival of Independent Cinema, Int. Film Festival Shanghai, a.s.o. His first feature film THEY CHASED ME THROUGH ARIZONA premiered at the Int. Film Festival of Locarno 2014 - in competition Cineasti del presente and got pre-selected for the European Film Award 2015. Matthias Huser is one of the eleven co-founder of 8horses GmbH - a development and production company focused on international arthouse films - a producers, directors, writers, artists and cinematographer ́s collective based in Zurich. Matthias Huser participated with his second feature film project THE JUNGLE at the Script Station Berlinale Talents 2018 and attended the EAVE Producers Workshop 2018. The project was selected for the Europe-Latin America Co Production Forum at the San Sebastian Film Festival 2018 where it won the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award. Matthias Huser joined with THE JUNGLE the Ventana Sur Producers Market 2018, Buenos Aires in the new section - PROYECTAS invited by Marche du Film Cannes Film Festival/INCAA and is a participant of the Torino FeatureLab 2020 together with 8horses producer Michela Pini and creative producer Simon Jaquemet.
