WADJDA by Haifaa Al Mansour (Saudi Arabia), developed with the support of TorinoFilmLab and Dubai International Film Festival within the pilot script development training that lead to the creation of Interchange, continues to gather awards and to receive appreciation from critics and audience.
Selected in the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2013\'s Bright Future section, the first feature film shot by a woman in Saudi Arabia won the Dioraphte Award for most popular Hubert Bals Fund-supported film: the prize, voted by the audience, consisted in 10.000 Euro.
WADJDA also won the Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the Göteborg International Film Festival, which reached its conclusion a few days after IFFR.
Just less than a week later, on the 6th of February, Haifaa Al Mansour\'s film has been released in France by Pretty Pictures in 80 copies: not only critics welcomed it enthusiastically, but in its first week of distribution in the French cinemas WADJDA had nearly 80.000 spectators.
