The call for applications of SeriesLab 2021 has been launched today: the screenwriters, directors and producers interested in developing their TV series concept can apply until the 1st of February 2021! But which are the new elements introduced this year?
SeriesLab is a year-round programme where professionals find the necessary support to develop and present innovative international TV series projects. It welcomes 9 European teams* working on fiction TV series projects at an early development stage.
For the first time, the programme opens up to mini-series, on top of accepting projects of long, multi seasoned TV series. From this new edition, SeriesLab also wants to empower the support offered to the producers of the projects selected, to develop and produce a successful TV drama series for an international audience. During the workshops, producers will have the chance to work on their projects guided by international experts and mentors.
The programme is structured around two residential workshops in June and November 2021 and one online workshop in September 2021. The aim is to draft the treatment of the pilot and the concept presentation (mini-bible) by the end of the programme.
SeriesLab concludes with the presentation of the developed concepts in front of a selection of major international key players, during an industry event organized by TorinoFilmLab in conjunction with one of the main European TV series markets.
SeriesLab is realized thanks to the support of the Creative Europe - MEDIA Sub-programme of the European Union; with the support of: Millimeter Film; in partnership with: VAF - Flanders Audiovisual Fund. Thanks to these partnerships SeriesLab will welcome 1 project from each of the following territories: Georgia and the Flanders region of Belgium, whose participation in the programme will be supported by the above-mentioned institutions.
