Together with the main programme – featuring the TFL film & TV series projects developed over the year – the upcoming Meeting Event will be enriched by two special events.

On Wednesday 18th November, Christopher Mack (USA) will hold a Pitch Realisation Workshop. Director, Creative Talent Investment & Development at Netflix International Originals, Mack’s work focuses on identifying, supporting and developing local writers and directors in the EMEA regions.

The Pitch Realization Workshop will share some best practices on how to create and document the best version of a character-driven series. By asking the right questions and looking at a series using the character's goals and motivations versus the plot, it is possible to create a professional-looking pitch document that will allow a buyer to easily decide whether or not a specific show is right for their streaming service or network.

On the following day, Thursday 19th, the TFL Meeting Event will take a closer look at the TFL-supported project CHOCOBAR by Lucrecia Martel (Argentina), in a dialogue with FeatureLab Head of Studies Violeta Bava.

CHOCOBAR is the winner of the TFL Co-Production Fund 2020 (€ 50.000), which supports co-productions between European and international companies. In this frame, it has also benefited from several tailor-made consultancies with experts carefully selected according to the project’s specific needs.

Lucrecia Martel’s work has been embraced by the international film community since her landmark debut in 2001 with LA CIÉNAGA (The Swamp). Her films have been critically acclaimed and distributed widely, premiering at top tier international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, New York, Sundance and Rotterdam.

Both events will only be accessible to the attendees of the TFL Meeting Event or the Torino Film Industry.
