The 11th edition of TorinoFilmLab was officially closed witha the TFL Meeting Event, where 15 development, production and distribution awards were assigned for a total value of € 433.000.
A global co-production forum for independent feature films and adaptations, with a focus on emerging directors. A public presentation of the projects developed at TorinoFilmLab throughout the year. A moment to reward the best projects with awards, production & distribution grants. The TorinoFilmLab Meeting Event, taking place on November 23-25 within the Torino Film Festival, brought together more than 300 industry professionals from all over the world.
Within the FeatureLab programme, 10 projects in advanced development were presented.
The international Jury – comprising Cameron Bailey (Canada), Artistic Director & Co-Head of the Toronto International Film Festival; festival programmer and co-production expert Teresa Cavina (Italy); multi-awarded director, producer and TFL Alumnus Babak Jalali (Iran/UK); producer and TFL Alumna Ankica Juric Tilic (Croatia), and Paolo Moretti (France), newly appointed General Delegate of the Cannes Directors' Fortnight – has decided to award 2 TFL Production Awards (amounting to a total of € 80.000):
SMALL BODY by Laura Samani (Italy/Slovenia) – € 40.000
THE WOODCUTTER STORY by Mikko Myllylahti (Finland) – € 40.000
and 4 TFL Co-Production Awards (amounting to a total of € 200.000):

Hamilton Behind The Camera Award – Talent for the Future
The prize, granted by Swiss watch brand Hamilton to one of the ScriptLab projects, includes a cash prize of € 5.000 to support the development of the script, as well as a watch dedicated to cinema for the director-author. It was assigned to:

Amsterdam Post Lab Award
The prize is assigned to a FeatureLab project: it allows the producer to participate in the Amsterdam Post Lab post-production workshop and offers a € 7.500 grant in post-production services at the Filmmore facilities and a € 7.500 grant to be spent in the Warnier-Posta sound studio. The prize went to:

The prize, offered by Sub-ti Access Srl., will provide a FeatureLab project with subtitles for the deaf and hearing impaired, and audio description for the blind and visually impaired, with audio subtitles. Winner:

A community of 700 film professionals trained within TFL, 93 completed films and 20 films entering production in 2019, dozens of prizes in the main festivals worldwide as well as Oscar candidatures, more than 40 international partners and a total of around 3000 international guests brought to Torino are only some of the TFL figures.
