THE WOUND gains two Final Cut Awards in Venice

Double good news from Venice: South African writer/director John Trengove's TFL film THE WOUND was awarded two of the main prizes at the 4th edition of Final Cut in Venice (3-5 Sept.), the workshop aimed at providing concrete assistance in the completion of films from Africa and from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

Double good news from Venice: South African writer/director John Trengove's TFL film THE WOUND was awarded two of the main prizes at the 4th edition of Final Cut in Venice (3-5 Sept.), the workshop aimed at providing concrete assistance in the completion of films from Africa and from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

THE WOUND, developed at FrameWork 2014, gained a TFL Production Award at the TFL Meeting Event of the same year and it is produced by Elias Ribeiro Urucu Media (South Africa). In Venice it gained up to € 15.000 for the sound mixing offered by Mactari Mixing Auditorium (Paris) and up to € 10.000 for digital color correction, for the production of a DCP master offered by Titra Film (Paris).

Furthermore, TFL Alumna Soudade Kaadan (Interchange 2013) gained two prizes with her documentary OBSCURE: 35mm print or the participation in the production costs of a DCP (€ 1.500), offered by the Festival International de Films de Fribourg, plus marketing, publicity and distribution in the Arab World offered by MAD Solutions.

Final Cut in Venice workshop took place on Sept.3-5 during the Venice Production Bridge of the 73rd Venice International Film Festival.
