Biography

Alex has a passion for telling stories for film and TV. In over 15 years of experience, he has written several feature screenplays and pilots, written and directed award-winning short films and commercials, and has edited TV content that has been viewed by millions and been BAFTA nominated. Alex has previously written and directed a number of award-winning comedy short films. Most recently The Prince of Denmark, an adaptation as part of Shakespeare Lives for the British Council, selected for competition in LA comedy Shorts and winner at Kinsale Sharks. Less Recently, Smash, for the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and You Seen My Goat? for Roman Coppola at Dazed Magazine. And much less recently, the multi award-winning Le Cheval 2.1, and Oedipus, which won the BBC New Filmmaker of the year award and played at Clermont-Ferrand. He’s had two feature projects funded through by Creative England, projects funded by The British Council, and has been selected to attend London Film Festival Micro Market, Binger Writer’s Lab and Berlin Talent Campus. Currently he works mostly as a commercials director, having made films for Toyota, Carrefour and Ecoembes. Alex has several other TV and Film projects in various stages of development, and has so far worked with exceptional script advisors, including Kate Leys, Molly Stensgaard and Celine Haddad.
