After some experience as a director and scriptwriter, Justin Pechberty launched Les Valseurs production and distribution company with Damien Megherbi in 2013. He has produced twenty-five short films including Nefta Football Club by Yves Piat, nominated for an Oscar and a César 2020, Wicked Girl by Ayce Kartal, César 2019 for Best Animated Short Film, She Runs by Qiu Yang, Best Short Film at Cannes Critics’ Week 2019, and Weija Ma’s Step into the River, shortlisted to the Oscars 2022. Building on these early successes, Justin and Les Valseurs are currently working on several feature films including The Animals’ Christmas, a pre-school animation film by a collective of six female directors, co-produced by ARTE. They are also working on three international co-productions, the Argentinean documentary Los Nombres Propios by Fernando Dominguez, Heartless by Nara Normande & Tião (Torino Feature Lab 2020) and The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo by Diego Cespédes (Cinefondation Cannes Film Festival 2019), also co-produced with ARTE. In parallel, Les Valseurs is developing a feature film distribution activity in France. Their catalogue includes films such as Arrythmia by Boris Khlebnikov, The Truk by Sarah Marx (Venice 2018) and Sole by Carlo Sironi (Venice 2019). Their next release will be Miss Marx by Susanna Nicchiarelli (Venice 2020)
