Born in Khoram Abad, Iran, Morteza Ahmadvand works and lives in Tehran. He is a multimedia artist and filmmaker who was originally trained in painting, a medium that informs his video works. He holds an MA from Tehran University. Ahmadvand’s career started in painting and traces of his painterly gestures can be observed when watching his videos as they possess characteristics, which allude to painting. He collaborated with a documentary Radiograph of
a Family (2020, directed by Firouzeh Khosrovani) as the Art director.
