Cláudio Marques was born in Campinas, São Paulo, in 1970, and has lived in Salvador, Bahia, since 1982. He was editor and film critic of the Coisa de Cinema magazine for eight years (1995-2003) and has worked for other newspapers.
From 2007 to 2009, Cláudio was responsible for film programming at the Walter da Silveira theatre. He was the founder of the Espaço Itaú de Cinema – Glauber Rocha film complex and has been its principal coordinator since 2009.
He also founded the Panorama Internacional Coisa de Cinema, an international film festival in Salvador, and has been its Head Producer since 2003.
Since 2002, organizes a film festival (International Panorama “Coisa de Cinema”) in the city of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The Festival promotes diversity with more than 100 films in each edition. Since 2006, works with film production and invests in a “cinema des auteur.” It has produced 9 films, short and tv broadcasts, participated in over 185 festivals, and received 70 awards.
