The 13th edition of the TFL Meeting Event, which will be held digitally from the 16th to 20th of November 2020, will put a spotlight on emerging Italian producers thanks to the new initiative Up & Coming Italia 2020.

The 13th edition of the TFL Meeting Event, which will be held digitally from the 16th to 20th of November 2020, will put a spotlight on emerging Italian producers thanks to the new initiative Up & Coming Italia 2020.

This programme aims at encouraging and mentoring producers that are taking their first steps into international co-production. The 6 selected professionals will be offered three days of tailor-made training sessions with experts and mentors. Afterwards, they’ll have the chance to join the TFL Meeting Event forum to discover the TFL projects developed throughout the year. The participants will also join the networking event organized in collaboration with TFI – Torino Film Industry and will pitch their projects to an audience of Decision Makers.

The six producers selected for Up & Coming Italia 2020 are:

Laura Biagini with VIDEMORTOS, a film by Matteo Incollu.
Biagini got her Master’s Degree in Film Business from Escac, Barcelona and founded her company Mommotty Film, based in Sardinia, in 2013. She has produced many short films and documentaries and is now developing two projects: an animation feature film in co-production with France and Matteo Incollu’s first feature, VIDEMORTOS.

Costanza Coldagelli with FASTER THAN SHADOW (original title: PIÙ VELOCE DELL'OMBRA) directed by Letizia Lamartire.
Coldagelli has acquired over 20 years of experience in the audiovisual industry. She dedicated herself completely to producing in the last few years, having founded her production company, Matrioska. Through this company, she produced two documentaries and a low-budget fiction feature. She intends to expand her international network to produce her upcoming projects.

Claudio Giapponesi, with the project THE PROPERTIES OF METALS (original title: LE PROPRIETÀ DEI METALLI) directed by Antonio Bigini.
Giapponesi co-founded Kiné Società Cooperativa in 2008, a company based in Colle di Val d’Elsa (Tuscany), Florence and Bologna. After producing over 15 documentaries in 10 years, presented in the most important festivals in Italy and abroad –, Giapponesi decided to engage for the first time in fictional cinema with this project, developed within La Biennale College.

Margot Mecca, with the project LA PRIMA VOLTA directed by Matteo Tortone.
Mecca is a documentary producer, a consultant and a post-doctoral researcher at Universitat Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona. With the company Malfé Film, she is producing Matteo Tortone’s documentary project MOTHER LODE, a co-production between Italy, France and Switzerland.

Federico Minetti with MONTAIGNE, a film by Luca Ferri.
With a background in business and economics, Minetti started to work in the film industry as a film editor. In 2009, he founded his production company, Effendemfilm, which focuses mainly on creative documentaries, short movies and experimental film. His films have premiered at several important film festivals worldwide, including Berlinale, Venice, Torino and Vision du Réel. MONTAIGNE is his first fiction feature film project.

Giulia Olivieri with FROM HERE YOU CAN’T SEE THE SEA (original title: DA QUI NON SI VEDE IL MARE) by Sergio Canneto.
Olivieri is an Italian producer living between Italy and France. She spent three years as an assistant producer for the documentary and art film production company La Bête (France). In 2019, she produced her first film, which premiered at Locarno Film Festival. She wishes to start producing again from Italy, collaborating with the company Slingshot Films (Roma) on Sergio Canneto’s documentary project, FROM HERE YOU CAN’T SEE THE SEA.
