We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with the World Cinema Fund (WCF), increasing the support to WCP-funded projects during the production stage: the Audience Design Award!

Assigned to one project selected for WCF production support, the new Audience Design Award – by WCF Europe & TorinoFilmLab consists of a scholarship to participate in a special TFL Extended workshop which will take place in September 2020 in Turin. During the 4-day workshop, the film team will have the opportunity to discuss their overall strategy for distribution and test ideas to reach, build and engage audiences.

In parallel, TorinoFilmLab will launch a call for applications to select the 4 Audience Design trainees who will work together with the film team with the guidance of a TFL Tutor. The call for applications of this TFL Extended workshop will be launched in April. The selection will be announced in July 2020.

A pilot edition of this collaboration took place in September 2019, and gathered 4 audience designer trainees working with TFL Tutor Benjamin Cölle and the film team of the WCF project LAS MIL Y UNA by Clarisa Navas. The film premiered in Berlinale 2020 as the Opening Film of the section Panorama.

Discover the Audience Design Strategy of LAS MIL Y UNA in the TFL Extended – Book of Projects 2019 here (p. 116).
